Objectives
GE Healthcare, a leading innovator in medical technology and diagnostics, empowers clinicians to make faster, more informed decisions through the use of intelligent devices, data, analytics, applications, and services, all supported by the Edison intelligence platform. During the decommissioning of their site, GE Healthcare identified several areas classified as confined spaces. Consequently, they required training in confined space management, safe entry, and rescue procedures.
Solutions
MCL delivered confined space training on-site at Amersham for GE Healthcare.
MCL provided the following confined space courses:
- Managing Confined Spaces
- Low to Medium Risk Confined Spaces
- High Risk and Rescue Confined Spaces
The training was conducted over a week within GE Healthcare’s confined space areas. As a result, GE Healthcare’s health and safety management team is now fully trained in managing and operating within confined spaces, understanding the safe systems of work for entering, exiting, and working within these environments.
Their operatives have been trained to a high standard for low, medium, and high-risk confined spaces, including rescue operations using breathing apparatus (BA) equipment. This comprehensive training has equipped the health and safety management team with the knowledge to establish a safe system of work for operatives accessing and working within confined spaces.
Result
GE Healthcare is very pleased with the standard and competence of the training provided by MCL. The training has successfully equipped their operatives with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage and operate within confined spaces safely.
The high standard of training delivered by MCL has also provided GE Healthcare with the reassurance that their health and safety protocols are robust and effective. This has significantly enhanced their overall safety management system and has given them peace of mind knowing that their team is well-prepared to handle the challenges associated with confined spaces.
