Installation of Harken Lifting Rails and Reid Davit Arms at Crossrail, Paddington

Costain, in collaboration with its joint venture (JV) partner Skanska, spearheaded the delivery of the Paddington phase of the prestigious Crossrail project. This monumental task involved intricate planning and execution to ensure that all components were seamlessly integrated into the project’s framework.

A critical requirement for this phase is the installation of 8 Harken lifting rails and 4 Reid davit arms across various access areas.

MCL conducted a site visit and developed designs and scope of works together with an installation plan was put together with a programme of works. The Harken lifting rails and Reid davit arms are essential for facilitating safe and efficient lifting operations, ensuring that materials and equipment can be moved with precision and reliability. The Harken lifting rails provide robust and flexible support for horizontal and vertical movements, while the Reid davit arms offer secure and stable anchoring points for lifting operations.
