Fixed Ladder Inspection Course

Fixed ladder inspection training teaches individuals how to assess the safety and condition of permanently installed ladders used for access at height. Under UK regulations, ladders must be inspected regularly by a competent person to ensure they remain safe and compliant. Training covers inspection procedures, defect identification, reporting and legal requirements, helping organisations reduce risk and maintain safe working environments.

This fixed ladder inspection course is designed for personnel tasked with inspecting fixed ladders according to BS 4211.

It covers fixed ladder safety, inspection criteria, and maintaining fixed ladder access systems, including fixing elements, safety cages, and gates/trapdoors. This comprehensive training offers practical skills to ensure delegates can work safely and prevent accidents in line with current height regulations and health and safety standards.

I received great experience on the working at height course. It was different doing the sea survival course outside of a swimming pool. Thanks, Claudia for the new info and explanations on work at height and first aid!

I recently attended the Leyton centre to undertake my L3 IRATA upgrade, and really wanted to let you guys know my honest feedback.

Calum and Theo are outstanding IRATA trainers. Extremely knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated to delivering top-quality instruction. Their ability to clearly explain complex techniques and ensure everyone fully understands each aspect of the training makes a huge difference.

Since my last visit, I’ve noticed a real improvement in the overall training standard. It’s clear that Calum and Theo have raised the bar. They create a positive, engaging environment where safety, skill, and confidence are always the focus.

Both are a true asset to the MCL team, and their passion for rope access and commitment to excellence really shine through. An exceptional training experience from start to finish.
